School Travel Plan
The safety of students is our top priority. As a result, we are continually working with the Selwyn District Council, Transit New Zealand and The Ministry of Education to ensure students can travel safely to and from school. All students wear safety vests when travelling outside the school grounds.
Walking and Cycling to School
The school operates a Kiwi Crossing to assist students cross State Highway 73. The Kiwi Crossing is situated near the corner of Ross Street and South Terrace. The Kiwi Crossing is run by a selected group of trained Year 5-6 students and supervised by a staff member. The Kiwi Crossing operates between 8.30am and 8.45am and between 3.05pm and 3.20pm every school day.
Busing to School
If you live more than 3.5 kilometres from your nearest primary school then you are entitled to use the school bus service. Darfield High School manages the bus service for all primary schools in the greater Malvern area. Please contact the bus controller at the High School for more information.
