ERO Reports

In its confirmed Educational Review Report of May 2008, The Education Review Office commented as follows:

  • The Board, Principal and Teachers have responded positively to the recommendations of the last ERO review.
  • The Board and teachers have set clear targets for student achievement in numeracy and reading..
  • The quality of teaching is of a good to high standard.
  • All teachers have undertaken good quality professional development in assessment and numeracy.
  • Learning support programmes provide targeted assistance for students with learning difficulties and for students identified as being gifted and talented.
  • The Board has planned for and resourced the computer networking of the school to provide for the effective sharing of information.
  • Students and adults place a high priority on maintaining affirming and respectful relationships.
  • Students enjoy the opportunities to be involved in extra activities in which some have achieved success at national and regional levels.
  • Parents are welcome in the school.
  • The use of survey information to inform policy and strategic planning demonstrates the open and honest manner of the Board and leadership.

Steps are already being taken to address the recommendations for development made by ERO in agreement with the board. Among these are:

  • Encouraging independence in learners.
  • Target setting will be reviewed to further extend student achievement.
  • Develop the bicultural environment.
