Agricultural Club

The Boys' and Girls' Agricultural Club is a programme which enables children to learn how to:

  • Look after an animal and/or to grow their own small garden

Animal Project

Children must help to raise and care for an animal e.g. lamb, calf, pony, goat etc. which is judged at our Annual Pet Parade in October.
Judging will take place under the following headings;

  • Handling
  • Growth
  • Knowledge of how to care for the animal
  • Project Booklet (optional)


The maximum number of points to be won for any animal is 16.

Garden Project

Children must develop and maintain their own small garden - vegetable or flower.
These will be judged about the end of November each year.

Judging will take place under the following headings:

  • Layout
  • Growth
  • Knowledge of how to plant and maintain a small garden
  • Project Booklet (optional)

As for animals, gardens will be judged out of a maximum of 16 points.

Award Scheme

Upon achieving the following number of points special awards will be made and presented at our annual end of year break-up ceremony.
Achievement Badge - 26 points
Red Bar - 42 points
Green Bar - 58 points
Certificate of Excellence - 74 points
